The U.S. Department of Labor Wage & Hour Division enforces a number of federal labor laws, including the McNamara O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). In this presentation, representatives from the Wage & Hour Division will go over the requirements of the Service Contract Act, including payment of prevailing wages, fringe benefits, and recordkeeping requirements.
We’ll also discuss common violations found in a compliance investigation, such as failure to pay the prevailing wage rate and misclassification of employees as independent contractors. This presentation is intended to be a helpful resource for employers who are interested in bidding federal contracts for services or for those employers who currently have such contracts.
